Amazon has recently announced its drone delivery service, hoping to put the retail giant on top of the ladder once and for all. Other companies have now taken steps in order to keep up with Amazon’s innovative ways of delivery.
Waterstones recently unveiled the new way their books will be dispatched: Ornithological Waterstones Landing Service, or Owls.
According to Waterstones’ press manager, Owls consists of “a fleet of specifically trained owls that, either working individually or as an adorable team, will be able to deliver your package within thirty minutes of you placing your order.”
Admittedly, this step will make people think about Harry Potter; however, high demand (mainly just because of the cuteness of owls) is predicted.
Waterstones added: “Putting Owls into commercial use will take an number of years as it takes ages to train owls to do anything and we only just thought of it this morning.”
Great move, Waterstones!
